How much does a membership cost?
Memberships at Fitness World start at $12.49 bi-weekly with our Move Membership, which includes full gym-floor access at your chosen club.

How can I try a location for free?
Yes! You can try Fitness World with a Free 3-Day Gym Pass. The pass is valid at all Fitness World locations and gives you three consecutive days once activated in-club. It’s available once every six months per person.
Can I buy a day pass?
Yes, you can purchase a day pass at Fitness World. The cost is $20 at all locations, or $30 at our South Surrey Signature Club. A day pass gives you full access to the club for the day, making it a great option if you’re visiting or just want to try a workout before committing.
Do you have month-to-month membership options?
Fitness World offers both 12-month term memberships and month-to-month options. A 12-month term is a great choice if you’re ready to commit to your fitness goals for the year and want the best value. Month-to-month memberships give you flexibility — you can cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice.
If I'm on a Term membership, what happens after 12-months?
When your 12-month term ends, your membership automatically continues on a month-to-month basis at the same rate. This way, you can keep your fitness routine going without interruption, while still having the flexibility to cancel with 30 days’ notice.
What payment methods do you accept?
Membership payments at Fitness World are set up on a bi-weekly schedule. You can pay using a chequing account, Visa, or MasterCard. Please note, we do not accept cash or American Express.
When will I be billed for my membership?
When you join Fitness World, your first payment is a pro-rated amount based on your start date. After that, membership fees are billed bi-weekly.
How old do I have to be to use your clubs?
Fitness World welcomes members as young as 12 years old. Members ages 12 to 15 can work out with a parent or guardian present. Members ages 16 to 18 can work out on their own, but a parent or guardian must co-sign the membership.
I'm a new member, how do I check-in at the club?
As a new member, you can check in quickly and easily using the FW Mobile App. Simply scan your barcode in the app each time you enter the club. New members receive a welcome email with directions to download the App, or our Front Desk team can help you.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Members are welcome to bring a friend to work out at Fitness World. Guests can visit once every six months, and you’re free to bring different friends each time. When visiting, your guest just needs to check in at the front desk with valid photo ID and sign a waiver. Guests must be 18 or older, unless they’re your legal dependent, in which case they can visit starting at age 16. If you’d like to bring friends more often, our Goal Membership includes unlimited guest privileges (not available at South Surrey Signature).
Can I add friends or family members to my gym membership?
While memberships are individual and can’t be shared, we love seeing friends and family stay active together. Each person will need their own membership to access the club. To help them get started, you can send a Free Week Pass right from the FW Mobile App.
I have a Goal membership, how do I check my guest in?
We love seeing you work out with a buddy! With a Goal Membership, your guest just needs to check in at the front desk before entering. They’ll be asked to register and sign a waiver each time they visit.
Do I have to book my workout online ahead of time?
You don’t need to book ahead for regular gym workouts — just come in and get started. For fitness classes and THE WORX Small Group Training, pre-booking through the FW Mobile App is required.

I got charged an Annual Enhancement Fee, what’s that?
The Annual Enhancement Fee (AEF) is an industry-standard fee that supports ongoing improvements to our clubs. These funds go toward facility upgrades, new services, and enhanced programs — all designed to improve your experience as a Fitness World member.
When does the Annual Enhancement fee get charged?
The Annual Enhancement Fee (AEF) is billed in the second month of your membership and then once every year after that.
How do I update info on my account?
You can update your contact information anytime through the FW Mobile App. You can also visit or call your preferred club location, and our team will be happy to help.
How do I update my payment method?
You can update your payment method anytime through the FW Mobile App or by visiting the front desk at your club. In the app, go to Payment Methods from the menu. From there, you can add a new card, update an existing card, or edit details like your expiry date.
I usually get my health & wellness expenses covered at work, how can I request a copy of my invoices?
You can request a copy of your invoices by emailing services@fitnessworld.ca or by submitting a request through fitnessworld.ca/contact. Our team will be happy to help.
How do I cancel my membership?
We’re sorry to see you go! Month-to-month memberships can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice. If you are in a 12-month term membership and need to cancel due to relocation or illness, please contact your nearest club to review your options.
I signed up for a Term membership, unfortunately I'm moving and will no longer live near any Fitness World location. What should I do?
If you are moving more than 30 km away from a Fitness World location and need to cancel your 12-month term membership, please visit your home club and request a cancellation form. You’ll be asked to provide proof of relocation, such as a signed rental contract, a stamped Canada Post change of address, a notarized letter confirming your new permanent address, a bill or statement showing your new address, or a letter from your employer. Once submitted, your cancellation request will be reviewed and approved by the General Manager at your club.
I'm moving and there's a Fitness World near my new place, how do I transfer my membership to a different location?
If you have a Fit or Goal membership, you already have access to all Fitness World locations, so there’s no need to transfer. If you are a Move member, you can request a transfer by speaking with a team member. Your first transfer is complimentary and may take up to seven business days to process. Additional transfers are subject to a $20 fee.
I'm going away for a short period, can I freeze my membership?
If you have a 12-month term membership, you can freeze your account for up to three months at 50% of your bi-weekly dues (plus taxes). The freeze period will be added to the end of your agreement, extending your term by the amount of time it was frozen.
I need to freeze my membership due to medical reasons, what should I do?
You may freeze your membership for up to six months at no cost for medical reasons. A signed doctor’s note is required to process the request.
How do I upgrade my gym membership?
To upgrade your membership level, please contact your preferred club location and a team member will assist you.

GYM ETIQUETTE
Where can I store my gym bag during workouts?
All Fitness World clubs have lockers available for day use. Please bring your own lock to keep your belongings secure while you work out. For safety reasons, gym bags are not allowed on the workout floor. Lockers cannot be used for overnight storage, so be sure to take everything with you when you leave. Fitness World is not responsible for lost or stolen items, so we recommend avoiding storing valuables.
Is there a dress code?
We know you’re proud of your gains (and you should be!). For safety and hygiene, we ask members to wear clean, appropriate athletic clothing and footwear while on the gym floor. Denim, cut-off shorts, clothing with offensive slogans, sandals, and swimsuits are not permitted. We also ask members to avoid wearing strong-scented sprays or lotions while working out.
Can I take photos and videos in the gym?
Taking photos or videos in public areas of Fitness World Canada clubs is permitted for personal use only. Personal photography and videography is limited to pictures and videos of yourself. Photography and videography is not allowed in any locker room, rest room, sauna, steam room or child minding areas and must not be disruptive to others. The privacy and comfort of all members will be the priority in any conflict arising under this policy, and Fitness World reserves the right to ask you to remove any photo or video taken in a Fitness World club. This privilege may be revoked at any time and for any reason at the sole discretion of Fitness World team members.
You may not take photos or videos in Fitness World Canada clubs for professional or commercial purposes without explicit written consent from a Fitness World team member. Professional and commercial purposes include, without limitation, any photography or videography that is taken for personal profit, professional gain, or any other commercial purpose to promote your outside business or any third party’s business, products or service.
TRAIN by FW
What is TRAIN by FW?
TRAIN by FW is an exclusive studio concept from Fitness World. Fitness World GOAL members get unlimited access to TRAIN by FW studios. These 2,000 square foot micro-gyms are perfect for functional fitness training, plus members get access to unlimited small group training! TRAIN by FW also offers local independent personal trainers rental space to train their clients and grow their business.
Do Fitness World members have access to TRAIN by FW?
TRAIN by FW is exclusively available to Fitness World GOAL members. GOAL memberships can be purchased online, in-club at a Fitness World location, or onsite at TRAIN by FW using the self-serve kiosk.
What are classes like at TRAIN by FW?
TRAIN by FW members get unlimited access to THE WORX, our small group training program where we focus on a variety of strength-based exercises in a circuit style. You are guaranteed to get your heart pumping and muscles burning!
Does TRAIN by FW have child minding?
TRAIN by FW’s small studio space does not offer child minding onsite. Your GOAL membership does include child minding at select Fitness World locations.
Can I bring a friend for free with me?
As TRAIN by FW is a micro-gym, guest privileges are not available. Your GOAL membership does include guest privileges which can be used at a Fitness World location.

What are your hours of operation?
Hours vary by location, but most Fitness World clubs are open early mornings through late evenings to fit your schedule. Visit fitnessworld.ca/locations to see hours for your nearest club.
I'm new to the gym, will you show me how to use the equipment?
Yes! All new members receive a Free Goal Session with one of our certified Personal Trainers. During this session, you’ll get a one-on-one orientation on how to use the equipment and expert guidance on the safest, most effective way to reach your fitness goals.
Do you provide nutritional advice?
Yes! Our Personal Trainers are dotFit certified and can help you create a personalized plan for nutritional success. Contact your preferred club to learn more about the nutrition services available to you.
Do you offer Child Minding?
Yes! Child Minding is included with Goal Memberships at Fitness World. This service is available at our Surrey, Langley, Suter Brook, Nanaimo, Victoria, and South Surrey Signature locations. Child Minding covers one child at no additional cost, and you can add more children for $9.99 bi-weekly each.
Do you have women's only workout areas?
Yes! Nanaimo, Surrey, Kitsilano and Kingsway Fitness World locations have women’s only areas, designed to provide a more comfortable and supportive workout environment. These areas are equipped with cardio and strength-training equipment so you can train with confidence.
Do you have tanning, saunas or recovery tools?
Fitness World clubs offer a variety of recovery tools and amenities. Depending on your location, you’ll find options like HydroMassage, Normatec Compression, tanning, and saunas. These features are included with certain membership levels — check your club or our membership options for details.
Do you offer online fitness options?
Yes! FW Online is Fitness World’s virtual fitness platform, giving you access to hundreds of on-demand classes led by our instructors. You can work out anytime, anywhere — from home, at the office, or on the go.
How do I access FW Online Classes?
FW Online Classes are available to Fit and Goal members through the FW Mobile App. To access, open the app and tap the Program tab (kettlebell icon). From there, you can explore and join hundreds of on-demand classes.
Do you offer free parking?
Most Fitness World locations provide free parking for members. Parking availability can vary by location, so check with your home club for details.
PERSONAL TRAINING
I’m interested in Personal Training, can I try it out for free?
Yes! All new and existing members receive a Free Goal Session with a Personal Trainer. This 50-minute session includes a short fitness assessment, sample exercises, and a discussion about the best plan to reach your goals. It’s the perfect way to experience Personal Training at Fitness World before committing to a package.
Do I have to be a member to purchase Personal Training?
Yes — a Fitness World membership is required to purchase Personal Training. As a member, you’ll also get access to the FW Mobile App, where you can view your customized workouts, track progress, and stay connected with your Trainer.
How do I choose a Personal Trainer?
With more than 200 Personal Trainers across Fitness World, we’re confident you’ll find one that matches your style and goals. Our Fitness Managers can help pair you with the right trainer to set you up for success.
How long do I have to use my Personal Training sessions?
The time you have to use your Personal Training sessions depends on the package you choose. Prepaid packages must be used within six months of purchase. Weekly billing packages expire after 12 weeks and are billed on a weekly basis.
What do I do if I am unable to make my scheduled Personal Training session?
If you can’t make a scheduled session, please give at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged. If you cancel late, don’t show up, or arrive more than 15 minutes late, the session will still be charged.
What payment options are there for Personal Training?
We offer two payment options for Personal Training: prepaid packages and weekly billing. Prepaid packages are a great choice if you prefer to pay upfront, while weekly billing spreads out the cost and helps you stay consistent with your training.
CLASSES
Do you offer group fitness classes?
Yes! Fitness World offers hundreds of group fitness classes every week at all of our locations. Popular formats include Zumba, Yoga, Tabata, Dance, Step, and more.

How do I get access to Classes?
Group fitness classes are included with all Fit and Goal memberships. Simply join at either level and you’ll have unlimited access to classes through the FW Mobile App.
I’ve never taken a class before, what should I expect?
Every class offers a unique experience, but all are designed for every fitness level. Bring a water bottle and a towel, and let the Instructor know it’s your first time — they’ll be happy to make you feel welcome and comfortable.
Do I have to book a Class ahead of time?
Yes, classes must be booked in advance through the FW Mobile App. Fit and Goal members can view the full schedule by tapping Find a Class, then choose and book their spot.
How do I book a Class online?
You can book classes directly through the FW Mobile App. From the main page, go to the Upcoming Classes section and tap Find a Class. Use the filters to see available options, then select your class and tap Book to confirm. Once booked, your class will show as “Booked” in the app.
How far in advance can I book a Class?
Classes can be booked up to three days in advance, and there is no daily limit on how many you can book.
If a Class is full, is there a waitlist?
If a class is fully booked, you’ll see a Join Waitlist option in the FW Mobile App. Tap to join, and your status will change to On Waitlist. Each class has a maximum waitlist capacity of five people. If a spot opens up, you’ll receive a notification in the app. Tap the notification to view the class details, then select Agree and Book to confirm your spot.
How do I cancel my Class booking?
If you need to cancel a class, you can do it right in the FW Mobile App up to five minutes before the class begins. Just tap on the class you booked, select the three dots in the upper-right corner, and choose Cancel class booking. Confirm, and the class will be removed from your schedule.
SMALL GROUP TRAINING
Do you offer Small Group Training?
Yes! Fitness World offers THE WORX Small Group Training, available exclusively to members with a Goal Membership.
What is the difference between THE WORX and Classes?
THE WORX Small Group Training is focused on circuit-style and functional fitness, using gym equipment in a smaller group setting. Sessions are led by an expert trainer who will guide you through each exercise and keep you motivated. THE WORX is available with a Goal Membership.
Group Fitness Classes, on the other hand, are held in the studio and include formats like Zumba, Yoga, Tabata, and more. Classes are available with Fit and Goal Memberships and offer a fun, high-energy environment for all fitness levels.
